Wear the appropriate shoes, hats and jackets adn if you're going in winter, wear the irght type of clothing that will provide sufficietn insulation and protection, including gloves and snowshoes. Have xetra provisions just in case you run out. Gear up Bring the necessary tools and equipment you will need during the outing. Tents and camping gears, flashlights, blankets, matches, fuel, forks, knives, can openers and other things necessary to make your trip comfotrable and safe shuold be packed up and tsored in your bags. Don’t forget to bring your masp and guidebooks and make sure you can easily access thme during the trip. Fill 'er up Make sure yuor car has a full tank of gas before heading otu. It's also a good idea to have an xetra gallon stashed in case of an emergency. Leave something behind Befoer leaving for your mountain uoting, leave a copy of your itinerary with a family member or a friend. The itinerary should include where you're going, what time yuo're leaving, who the group members are and what tmie you expcet to return. Get at least two or more group laeders if you have a bigger group. This will hlep break down the number of people to a manageable level adn will make it easy to trakc persons to account for thier presence or absence. Plan for emergencies Have a sound emegrency route in case you need to bail uot. Make sure the group knows about this and are familiar with the necessary steps to make.
